Day One

Afternoon

So today was the first day of the Residency and it was great!
I got 13 shots.
The people were fantastic and i am making friends with all my surrounding peers. Well for the most part!

I ended up being there the full 12-6 and can't see any reason why i won't want to do that throughout the week. Aside from upcoming assignments and work of course.

So for those who i shot today, i would like to personally say thank you very much and i hope you enjoy your portraits.

If you had the time i would love some feedback, of course you can do that here Or email me, heck you could even come to the gallery again.

I even baked muffins for the opening night!
Blueberry ones.

Everyone likes blueberries.

Resident

Hey All.

So i hadn't had a chance to update but today is a big day!

Why? Well it's not all too important actually.
I guess first i will explain the what.

I applied for a residency art program at my university, where me and a few other students would go in the gallery, set up a space and work in there for roughly three weeks.

So I'm attending this, which isn't a big deal on selection since only about 5 other people applied.
What we are all doing is set up a work space, be it drawing, printing, sewing etc.
Me i'm doing photography and post production so i'm setting up a mini studio.

Here is the invitiation we sent out. One of the coordinators or people involved went on to our facebooks accounts and drew picture of us for our invitation(i wanted to take some photos but was too nervous to suggest it)

To wrap this up, i will be taking images of passerbys that come into the gallery, then posting the daily shots on this here blog so people can view and download their pictures!
Hell donate if they want too.

At the start of the next semester i have applied for my own solo exhibition in which i will be posting all the images!

And the reason it was a big day is because it starts today, although the opening night is tomorow at 6:30pm.
I want to make cupcakes!

That's all for now.

Howdy

Through this week I got to do a shoot with a friend named Kirk.
He just wanted a nice shoot to give to his family and whatnot, so nothing over the top.

The good news is I just got to use him as a model and try out some smooth lighting.

Afternoon

So if anyone remembers i posted some images of a building i shot.
Well it turns out that building won an MBA Award(Master Builders Association). Which is awesome for them but also rather convenient for me as my image ended up in a magazine.

It's kinda nice to see my image there a long side of all the other(much better) images of the winners.
Anyways i just wanted to post that and express my random spurt of excitement.

So there it is.
Nothing too flash, but it's mine.
So i will enjoy this moment.

Blue

Evening.

So turns out the previous images i posted have ended up as a series.
It was an accident but i really enjoy the look they give, it seems they almost give off a strange sense of character and identity to the models.

Either way i like them and they have been well received so far.
I've also built up a few.

I plan to hold an exhibition at the start of the year at Watt Space gallery. They are taking applications at the moment for it.

I beleive it could be interesting to see all of them on a wall.

Here are the new ones!

So there they are.
I'm rather pleased with the result.

Currently as well as shooting as many people as i can i am also trying to shoot different styles.
Today i shot my friend Kirk(top left). It was a lot of fun and i tried some different things.

I will post them once i have selected and processed them.

Thanks for reading.
